Instructions for lab slip:
Loop Wanted on Wire: A loop in the center allows more flexibility of the wire. It may help to develop more space in the anterior section. A Richardson lingual appliance will open space in the anterior section without a loop.
Size of Lingual Wire: Smaller diameter wires are appropriate for younger patients. A 0.7mm diameter wire is great for ages 2-6; which would still work for older children at a slower rate of growth. A 0.8mm diameter wire is recommended for ages 6 and up. A 0.9 wire is used in the retainers and may be used carefully for development. It is a much heavier and stronger wire and may create discomfort for the patient. A 0.9mm wire may be used in older teenagers or adults.

Removable Lower Lingual Richardson Expander
Develop more width of the lower jaw. When made with a loop in the anterior it can widen the anterior and posterior. When made without a loop it can widen the posterior section of teeth.
